An outlet

A blog is something that I have been thinking about doing for quite some time. I have many interests, mostly sports, U.S. history and video games. I enjoy talking at length about these topics, but there are occasions where an interested listening ear is not present. Finally my wife has convinced me to begin a blog where I can talk about my interests.

Here are a few things about what I really enjoy.

  • First, college football is the greatest sport on the planet. I am a die hard fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and will be until the day that I die.
  • NASCAR has been an interest of mine for about twenty years now. From my early years of watching Dale Earnhardt to now rooting on Junior, Sundays are race days at my house.
  • I will watch nearly all other sports from baseball, basketball, hockey, golf and tennis. If there is a stick and ball you can bet I will be watching in some capacity.
  • Sports video games are big in my house, which by now probably isn't surprising. I enjoy taking the virtual Volunteers to glory in NCAA Football 13. Also I like playing virtual basketball, tennis, hockey, soccer, boxing and racing. COD: Black Ops is my primary FPS, but admittedly I am not very good at that one.
  • U.S. history is another interest of mine. From about eighth grade I have been fascinated by the journey of the explorers to the new world, to Washington and Jefferson, to Lee and Grant all the way up to our most recent history. I believe the United States to be the greatest country on Earth and I am always looking to learn new things about our great nation.
  • And above all of my interests and hobbies I am a Child of the King, Jesus Christ who has redeemed me by His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave three days later. In all that I do I strive to honor Him.
So there it is in a few bullet points. I will try to make regular posts about these topics and I know as college football quickly approaches I will be talking at length about the season and of course about my beloved Vols.

Until the next time, GO VOLS!!!
